Week 37 in Uruguay: "New People, Area, and Experiences"

April 24- April 30

New people, area and experiences

Wednesday - Thursday
Well, I am now in Parque Del Plata. Our house is super humble, I love it. We are about two blocks from the beach though. Well, my first night here we got home and went right to work.  We have bikes haha, yep definitely broke mine first day! We went and taught this older lady and it was so hard because she had a difficult time remembering the things we told her. I think we had to say José Smith like 1000 times, it was so awesome. Then we went to this house and this lady asked for a blessing. I was able to give a blessing my first day here, it was awesome. The spirit was amazing, and then after the blessing the lady’s mom wanted a blessing, it was so funny!  So, we gave her one.
Thursday, I rode a bike without a seat haha, I died! It was so hard and it was for like an hour.  We ended up teaching a guy who said he was atheist but I was able to talk to him with my comp and he is deciding to come to church.  We invited the family to say a kneeling prayer on the good old concrete/dirt floor.  The spirit is the coolest thing ever!

Friday - Saturday
Friday, we got to eat with a member that spoke English haha. We definitely just spoke English with her, it was so cool!  After we went and worked and it started to rain so hard. Then it started to hail! Oh my gosh, the ice was so big and hurts so bad. We were soaked and no one would let us in except this lady. The lady didn’t want anything before but we taught her and it was so cool. The lights went out so we taught with candles for a while, and the spirit was so strong! By the end of our lesson, she accepted a date to be baptized. It was such a miracle! My comp talked in English with the person without knowing, so funny. I definitely have to talk a lot of Spanish though.
On Saturday, we worked super hard.  We were riding on the coast and I loved it.  We also rode on the beach, it’s so nice!.  We had the best miracle ever!  We were talking to some kids and they told us to pass by their house so we did and we taught their mom. She wants to get baptized and know more about our church, so cool.  Later we taught Beatriz.  Oh boy, she was so funny!  She is very old and just a little out there haha. Hopefully, we can baptize her though.  We also bought 30 pounds worth of fruit! So so good!!!

Sunday
Today, was good old “doulingo” helping my comp learn Spanish. It was a good day. The ward here is pretty good. Yes, I have moved up to a ward instead of a rama or branch. I got to bear my testimony,  it was awesome. After a member came up to me and updated me on the NBA. Love the people here.  Well, after we were talking to this lady and she let us give her a lesson. She gave us some food that I am 100% positive was rotten. Definitely, said a prayer before eating it. We had a way good lesson though. Later, I hit this puddle riding my bike and got so dirty. After, we talked to a family. I was so excited teaching them and then they told us, that they were already baptized ha ha super funny. Well, remember you only got 730 days to work so make it worth it.
