Week 42 in Uruguay: "I'm going to be a dad"

5/29/18-6/5/18

I’m going to be a dad!

Wednesday - Thursday
Ok well let’s start with Thursday! Thursday was seriously a day of miracles! It is so cold here! It has been a complete downpour for 4 days straight but my comp and I turned a rainy dreary day into a fabulous day, all by our attitudes. We cleaned a huge yard by Laurito’s house.  My comp and I found trash from like 2004. I swear we found Michael Jordan’s  “Like Mike” sneakers lol. Well, we worked in the rain the whole day! We sang popcorn popping on the apricot tree and disney songs to get through the cold and then we saw so many miracles! It was a little rough because so many people rejected us so hard, like blinds shut, doors slammed/curtains and we even had someone crawl away lol. We prayed like a million times to find someone and we did. We also had the chance to give a blessing! The spirit was really strong! It was awesome! My comp and I froze today, but we wouldn’t have wanted it any different. I can see the hand of the Lord in my life! My testimony has grown so much in just a week, how cool is the Spirit and serving a mission. Wednesday it also rained and my comp tried to practice our cooking skills, we made a rice and chicken lunch. Let’s just say we might’ve put one or two dashes too much of pepper/spices in our chicken.  My comp and I taught a new family. They are so cool! We testified of eternal families and they shed a lot of tears during the lesson.  How special is it that we can be with our families forever. Momma’s boy for life!  Right after, we saw the cops beat the crap out of this guy, it was insane! He apparently was robbing the place. After, we taught Adrian.  My comp did an awesome job as he led the Charla. Hopefully, Adrian can be baptized soon. We then drink lemon juice haha super strong! Well, a funny thing, I gave a member chocolates from USA and she thought it was gold haha. Super cute and funny!

Friday - Saturday
I have officially started to drink mate today, lol. I didn’t like it at first but my companion loved it. Today we taught Katrina and her family and it was so cute. Her 11-year-old daughter told us she feels peace reading the Book of Mormon! We taught the plan of salvation through drawings, it was awesome! Well, on the way home two huge dogs attacked us!  Oh my, like HUGE dogs. It was intense!  We finally taught Sophia and her family.  Literally one of my favorite families ever!  We were laughing the whole time! My comp and I made the lessons so fun.  We taught about baptism. They are going to get dunked! After, my comp got yelled at by someone in the street for picking up an orange lol so funny!  I was laughing so hard, that kid is one funny kid! Well to end the day, we passed by a guy and he is or was Catholic.  He went off on our church and us. It made me pretty upset.  I was so mad but the only good thing was we left with a prayer and I know how to argue in Spanish lol.

Sunday
Sunday, we ended up going to Walter‘s house and helped him with a quick service, it was awesome.   We helped him cut a huge tree.  After, we taught Joaquin. It took all my paciencia to teach him lol.   When we got home we studied D&C.  After President Eddy called about transfers. Well, he told me some pretty special things and that he received revelation that I should train. I’m going to be a Dad haha. In the mish when you train someone, they are called your son.  I will miss Elder Harper but I am also excited to train and teach.  Both of us were also called to be district leaders. Such a cool day! Elder Harper and I were pretty excited after.

P.S. We saw the craziest dog fight ever! Like it looked like Simba and Scar from the lion king lol. One of the dogs pinned the other dog, it was so sad. I threw my bike to scare them haha, luckily it separated them. It was crazy!
