Week 66 in Uruguay: "William Becomes a Missionary"

11/12/18-11/19/18

"William Becomes a Missionary”

Tuesday - Wednesday
I said goodbye to my comp on Tuesday as we had Elder Gong come see us. The conference was amazing and super spiritual and I received a lot of answers. After the conference, we headed back home and I worked with the Elders from Colòn, Elder Ibarra y Elder Lloyd (Bruce). We worked all morning then in the afternoon I worked with William. William is a Capo!! He became a Corta Plazo haha and now works with me in the afternoon. We found a lot of amazing people. The Spirit was so strong hearing him testify of our Savior Jesus Christ. William then showed me where he lives. Oh my goodness, it's tiny! It's not even the size of a bathroom. It's big enough to put a twin bed in there and that's it. He showers with a bucket and he is one of the happiest people. So what does that tell us about needing things to be happy? We only need the gospel to be happy. Wednesday we were walking and I felt like we needed to talk to someone and her name was Mary Soiza. She wanted nothing to do with us. She told us other missionaries already tried to teach her. Well, I bore my testimony and said a prayer in my heart and she changed. She began to cry and invited us over. Miracles are everywhere!!

Thursday - Friday
Well, I am exhausted! Being a one-man zone leader is fun, but a lot of work. Especially since a Hermana went home this week. Friday, we contacted a lot of people and one lady that I really felt we needed to go talk to was really struggling. She told us her daughter died a month ago. It killed me. I was able to bear my testimony about Harmoni Hamby and the spirit was so strong. I could feel the help and love of the Lord. Later, I started a basketball night. We played 3 v 3 and it is awesome!

Saturday - Sunday
It rained all day Saturday! I died laughing with Elder Lloyd. He contacted people in the funniest way. I was literally crying laughing! When it rains there are miracles! We found a lady that is so prepared. Sunday was Stake Conference and President Eddy spoke. There was about 200 people that showed up. William and I had an amazing day. We put 2 fechas for people to be baptized. William has such a strong testimony. It's amazing! Well, remember to have an eye of faith (Ether 12). With faith everything is possible! Tell someone why you are grateful! Happy Turkey Day!!

Week 65 in Uruguay: "The Miracle of William"

11/5/18-11/12/18

The Miracle of William

Tuesday - Wednesday
Tuesday was so fun. I got to work with Elder Halls! We had such a good intercambio together. We met this lady that cried hearing us tell her, her family can be saved. We contacted a lot of people and the day went by super quick. It was the best. We also taught Claudio and had a really fun charla reading in Alma 36 about repentance. The Book of Mormon is awesome! After, Halls told me some pretty cool things.. love that kid! Wednesday we had meetings with President Eddy. It was such a good day! We also had a really spiritual lesson with William. That guy has changed his whole life! He said he has seen so many blessings during the entire week. Crazy how fast this gospel can change your life if you just let it!

Thursday - Friday
Thursday we went on another intercambio! I worked with Elder Dotson and it was a lot of fun. We really just contacted all day long haha, but it was super cool. We found a lot of awesome people for them to teach! We also gave a blessing.. such a cool, crazy experience. The family doesn't want to learn or go to church because their own son is on a mission and they know if they go, they are going to like church. Yes.. I know! Doesn't make sense!! haha Well, we ran home to be home on time and crossed a field of fireflies! Super cool, but I stepped in a swamp hole which was so gross. We cooked brownies to end the night! Friday we had a lot of really awesome charlas. I got super sick.. little bit of a cold and allergies.. don't know which, but I definitely know I'm losing the battle. haha! So one of my favorite people ever is Elder Lloyd. Freaking love this guy. His nickname is Bruce haha. You’ll find out why.

Saturday - Sunday
Saturday was one of the hottest days I've experienced here! So humid.. it feels like you just jumped into a pool. We had a miracle happen.. William got baptized! Seeing that man all dressed up in a white was something so special. That guy has been through a lot, but he changed and is so happy. Ahh.. It really hit me! My testimony has grown so much!!! During the baptism, I got to confirm William to the church and give him the Holy Ghost. The Spirit was so amazing.

Well guys.. Please always remember that God loves you and is looking upon you! So make Him proud.

Week 64 in Uruguay: "Gaston and Joaquin get dunked!"

10/29/18-11/5/18

"Gaston and Joaquin get dunked!”

Tuesday - Wednesday
We had our first "Jedi Council Meeting," which was amazing. I learned so much about the Atonement and my testimony has never been stronger and clearer than now. The Atonement is such a gift we have! I am so grateful for my Savior who died for me. The real question to ask now is, "Is what I'm doing making Jesus Christ suffer more or less?" It goes along with your actions, thoughts, and feelings. Would Jesus Christ be happy with what I'm doing and am I doing enough? As we serve, are we still serving others? Are we following our leaders and still keeping up our study habits? Things to think about... I mean, if a man who is 94 can do it (President Nelson), I think we all can! Also, please make it a goal to go to the temple at least two times a month. We all need to feel that peace.. so go!! There are so many opportunities that we don't take, so change now and receive answers to questions you might have. God wants you home! Wednesday, we taught William, I love this dude. I gave him an Avenger clip and he takes it everywhere. He is so humble. It was also Halloween, so we got food/candy out to all the little kids. So fun!

Thursday - Friday
We taught a man the Plan of Salvation and the Spirit was so strong. This guy named, Osbaldo, cried knowing he could see his wife again. Super cool day! We were up the whole day, walking, trying to find someone to teach. We found a lot of special people. Also, we made pizza!!! Pizza from scratch... not too bad. To end the day, I got bit by a Chihuahua. Out of all the dogs a Chihuahua! haha. Friday was a little slower day. We taught William and it was such a good charla. We then gave a blessing to a member. I got my workout with my boyzzzz, Elder Lloyd and Elder Ibarre. It is so funny with them. Overall, it was such a good day!

Saturday - Sunday
We had to empty the baptismal font for over an hour with buckets. It was fun though... we made it a game. After that, we had 2 baptisms!! Gaston and Joaquin, they are brothers! The best thing was that Gaston kept coming out of the water, so after the 5th time it all worked. He went on his knees haha. After, the baptisms, we had an activity. It was so fun. On Sunday, I was able to confirm Joaquin to be a member and gave him the Holy Ghost. It was such an amazing experience... the Spirit was so strong! Well, I hope you all got to bear your testimony because your words might be the thing someone needs to hear. God will use you as an instrument.

I love you all,
