Week 71 in Uruguay: "Feliz Navidad"

Feliz Navidad

Tuesday - Sunday

This week was one to remember! We were able to baptize Luis and I was able to help Elder Borquez do his first baptism in the mission. Having him doing the ordenanza was so special. The spirit was so strong! Like always, Satan tries to ruin the day with having the drain catch on fire but being able to empty and clean the font with buckets and then having someone enter into a covenant with God was all worth it! The Lord really is blessing us here in Melo! We are on the verge of having everyone in Melo baptize in the month of December which is so unique. For the month of Enero, we will have a lot of people making covenants with our Heavenly Father. We had 7 people come to church who all should and will be baptized in this next coming change.

My studies are absolutely amazing. I am studying the Atonement and I wish I could explain all my feelings and be able to describe how I feel about the Atonement but all I know is I have a strong testimony of it. It really is like a goal. It’s like glasses. I read a story how this lady was swimming a long distance and she gave up with only a half a mile left. Everyone asked her why she gave up and she said it was because of the clouds and she couldn’t see, not because it was too hard. The next race she swam the English channel and it was again a cloudy day. She was about to reach her hand out and give up when her dad said look up and she saw the finish line and swam harder and faster than before. This is like the Atonement. I feel like without it, it’s like a cloud. It’s something that covers our eyes and blocks our vision and hope to reach the end. With the atonement, we regain motivation and hope, and we are able to swim faster and harder than before to reach our eternal goal of returning back to him. The atonement is everything and we are able to become like God if we just follow the steps of the repentance process.

Merry Christmas
